In Utah

I'm not sure when I'll be writing next since we leave tomorrow for Utah!! A special thanks to Erica for getting herself up so early to take us to the airport....You are the BEST! I just hope we make it on the plane so she doesn't have to come back to pick us up! Anyway, enjoy Iowa everybody!!

World's Most Amazing Father!

I just finished reading and watching the most amazing story ever....but I wasn't told to have a tissue ready. So I'm telling you, when you watch the video, have a tissue handy. This made me look at myself as a parent wondering how good of a job am I doing for my child? I hope I'm doing well, but I do know that I need work. Enjoy this, I did!

Doug's First Rotation

Well, it's been a long wait, but we finally found out where Doug will be doing his first rotation......Mesquite, NV! He will start October 1st and finish around the 7th of December. We are so excited and he got his #1 pick! Right now he is thinking he will stay in St. George and commute to Mesquite. Not to mention he will hopefully run in the St. George Marathon. So if any of you know where we could find an extended stay place in St. George for cheap I'd love to hear about it!

Girls' Night Out!!

Well I came back this morning from the best girls' night I have had in a long time! We went to dinner at this fun resturant called On the Border. It's a mexican resturant and the food was really yummy! After dinner we went to a hotel (thanks to my wonderful sister) and played this really fun game called Loaded Questions. If you've never played it before, you should! Then a couple of us spent the night! I took my camera with me, but totally forgot I had it so I only got a couple pictures and they are from dinner. And yes, I did get one of Erica!!

These girls that were there are wonderful girls and I'm so glad to know them. Two of them will be moving away this summer since school is either over with and they have a job somewhere else, or they are starting rotations for medical school. I'm glad they all could be there and spend this time together while we still have all of us! So I just want to say to all those girls that came, THANK YOU!

Fortune Cookies

I absolutely love Chinese food. So yesterday at play group I had to have some from the Famous Wok, and I always get the same thing when I go, orange chicken. It is so yummy!!! But one of the best parts of getting Chinese food...the fortune cookie! And let me tell you, my fortune cookie was the absolute best! I tried taking a picture of it so you all would really believe what it said, but the picture didn't turn out. So here it is: "You are about to become $8.95 poorer. ($6.96 if you had the buffet)." I am serious, this is exactly what it said! We had a great laugh about it so I thought you all would enjoy my little fortune!

Until next time!

Type 1 Diabetes

In August, I will be headed to Utah to take part in a special walk. It is the JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes. My 2 year old cousin Brenner was recently diagnosed with type one diabetes and I am walking for him and his team Brenner's Buddies! But I need your help. I am trying to raise $100 for this cause and with your donation you will be able to help sponsor me in this walk. Please, if you would donate as much as you can whether it be $10 or more, it will help these kids become even closer to the cure that they need. If you would like to donate, just go to my website

Thank you everybody!

Drew

O Divine Redeemer

I absolutely love music! I love to play the piano and I love to sing, so naturally I decided to sing in the ward choir. Next week in sacrament meeting the choir will be singing O Divine Redeemer. This song is such a beautiful song and if anyone hasn't heard it, you really need to! I was so excited to find out that this is what we are singing because I sang this song in high school. As we were practicing this song all I kept thinking was, "What is my problem? This song was so easy at school!" O Diving Redeemer's soprano part, if you aren't aware of, has some high notes....really high notes. And I realized that since I haven't sung notes in that range since high school my voice has dropped. So, I decided that instead of giving up and moving to the alto part, I would take the song home and practice with all my might to hit those extremely high notes with grace. And so my friend Erica, who has the world's most beautiful voice, doesn't think I am such a loser, since she is also singing the soprano part!

Stay tuned for Sunday's update on such a wonderfully amazing song, O Diving Redeemer!

Drew's Outdoor Project

Drew has this thing of taking my swiffer mop outside and running it through the grass and onto the patio. I think his idea is that everything, even the outside can get pretty darn dirty! So he tries to clean it up. And no matter how many times I try and take it away, he screams...yes, like a little girl! I believe he truly thinks he is cleaning, just like I do when I mop the kitchen floor! Anyway, I thought you all would enjoy

seeing my little guy clean the back patio!

House Cleaning

You know the one thing I hate to do the most, clean my house. No matter how many times I clean it it always ends up messy again. I guess that's what I get for having a child. He can make a mess of things so fast its rediculous! I swear I vaccuum everyday. Not to mentions sweep the kitchen floor, (well I actually don't sweep it, I vaccuum that too!) Sometimes I wish I could put Drew in a corner and tell him that he can make a mess of that corner all he wants, but he would never stay there. He is so busy all of the time and into absolutely everything. Which is why I end up cleaning the house every day. Well, if any of you have ideas on how to keep a clean house, I'd love to hear it. Have a good one!

My Evening Walk

I can't tell you how much I am loving this weather. We just got back from a walk tonight, it wasn't too hot and there was a light breeze...it was wonderful!! I love being able to take Drew outside and enjoy the scenery, even though there isn't a lot to see it still is quite lovely. Plus, he loves being outside, which I'm glad about. If I can keep him running outside, maybe he won't end up a fat, lazy boy sitting on the couch watching movies all day! (Man, winter is hard!) Well, everyone have a great night. Chow!

Drew's new bed

Well we transitioned Drew into a new bed. We took the front off his crib and put up rails. The first time we tried a nap he ended up crying himself to sleep behind the door. But that night he fell asleep in his bed and stayed there. The next day he fell asleep in his bed and it's been good ever since. But as you can see from the picture, he is a wild sleeper. I'm sure he'll fall out one of these days!

This wonderful weather!

I just can't believe this weather! I am absolutely loving it. Now all I need to do is go running! I keep telling myself that and what do I do...head to the Y! Now that it is so nice outside I might sweat off a few more pounds! I want to be like Erica and have my running shoes all muddy by the time the summer is over. Well, if I'm going to start I might as well do it now! Chow!
