Ugh!

Cars suck. I have this love/hate relationship with mine. I love the fact that I can drive anywhere I want to. I hate the fact that when I get to my destination, my car dies. This is what happened to me yesterday. I drove from Drew's dentist appointment (the Valley West Mall area) to the Cassey's General Store on University by our house to fill my tires up with air. While filling the third tire, my car dies. Oh joy! So I call Doug, who is on his way to class, to figure out what to do. He tells me to check the oil....it's fine, but I added another quart anyway. I try starting the car and it screams at me and then dies. By this point I am so sick to my stomach that all I can do is call Erica to come get me and Drew. When I got home, I called someone to come and tow my car to Tuffy. To make a long story short, 8 hours and two grand later I had my car back. (FYI: Tuffy nickle and dimes you for labor). So like I said before, cars suck. I can't wait for our tax refund!

"This is my tail!"

I'm so sorry for these last posts not having pictures, but I keep forgetting to take my camera places. In fact, this post would be ten times better with a picture if I would have remembered to take my camera with me. But Kristin took a couple of Drew being messy with a "bwonie" so as soon as she emails them, I will post them.

We went to dinner last night at Quinn and Kristin's house. They made a yummy roast with potatoes and carrots, rolls and a salad. Can't go wrong there! Well, Quinn and Kristin have two cute dogs, Ginger (yellow lab), and Sophie (poodle, yorkie mix). Drew absolutely loves Ginger and now he loves Sophie. We were explaining to Drew that the long thing on the back of Sophie was her tail and without a pause Drew says, "This is my tail" and hits his penis. We were rolling with laughter! I've NEVER told Drew that his little part is a tail, and Doug swears up and down he hasn't told him it's a tail either! So where he got this from, I have no idea. But I had to share this!

whine, whine

I can't tell you how sick I am of winter. I think it's really getting to Drew, because no matter what he is whinny. (sp?) Even when he talks to you he does it with a whine. I try and tell him that if he wants to do something, he has to talk normal. I don't think he gets it! I just really want to put in my ear plugs and never take them out. Any ideas on how to get a two year old not to whine? I'd appreciate the ideas.

quiz

I took this quiz that my friend Erica put on her blog. You know what's funny, I've never read or seen Pride and Prejudice.

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

long days

Yesterday was such a long day. Usually Sundays aren't so bad since church takes up most of the day. But church was cancelled yesterday because of the weather. We had blizzard warnings for most of the day out here and the wind was so fierce. So what do you do to pass the time when you can't go anywhere? Well, Drew and I played cars for a good portion of the day, Doug did some studying, and then we watched some Church related kids movies. Here is a picture of what the roads looked like here yesterday. So how did your Sunday go?

never ending

I just have to say that I have the most wonderful husband in the world. Drew caught something from somebody which has caused me to change at least 20 diapers on Wednesday. And last night he spiked a temp and then threw up, he still has a temp this morning. Well, I felt absolutely terrible because I couldn't take care of him last night since I had to work, so Doug took care of him instead. I am so thankful for him doing what I wasn't able to do. I'm also sorry for being so graphic, but I'm just so sick of this. It seems like we just can't get a break here at the Giles' house. It's been a cold one week, we're fine the next, then a cold again, and now this. I mean, how much more of this is my little family of three going to see? So, sorry to all of you, but for the time being, I'm not going to babysit for anyone. I don't mean to sound rude, but we just need to get over this.

feb. 14

My mom and dad sent Drew the cutest Valentine package. It came with all sorts of stuff! You'll just have to look at the picture to see everything. But my favorite thing that they sent were these little packages, you put them on the ground, smack them real hard and they begin to inflate. Then all of a sudden the package pops open, and you have this inflated balloon! It's so cool. Mom, where did you get those?

I got my Valentine Swap package today, and I have to say thank you to Ginna! She did such a great job on this gift! I absolutely love it! What creative ideas people have! She even put in a treat for Doug and Drew, which I know they will enjoy! Thanks again Ginna! Happy Valentine's day! I'm sure I'll post tomorrow about how the rest of the day went.

Breaking Dawn

Official Press Release: BREAKING DAWN WILL RELEASE ON AUGUST 2, 2008!!!
I am so excited, I think I'll wet my pants! Ok, I won't really do that, but I'm all jittery! You can pre-order your book here!

David Gunn

This is Doug's uncle Dave. Dave passed away Saturday morning, he was only 45 years old. He was such a great man, always made sure to say hi to you. Dave owned a race car that raced at Rocky Mountain Raceway. I always wanted to go and watch a race, but never got the opportunity. I found out yesterday that Dave's body will be donated to science, how wonderful is that?! If you would like to read his obituary, click here.

Teresa and Tori, we love you and wish you all the comfort you need at this time. Our prayers are with you!

Date Night

Friday night is usually just another night here at the Giles' house, but this last Friday was quite different. Doug took me out on a date!! He and I haven't been on a date in about 6 months, and thanks to Brandon and Kjyah Wilde, we were able to go. Brandon and Kjyah are the parents of Drew's friend Owen, and they watched Drew for us so we could go out, so again, thanks you guys!

Doug and I went and saw Fool's Gold. It was a little slow at times, but pretty funny. It's one that I don't really have to see again, but would go if someone else wanted to. But I love Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, they are such a great pair!

After the movie we went to dinner at Champp's. I absolutely loved it! I had this wonderful potato soup and french dip sandwich. They were both soooo good! In fact, I'd go back just for the soup! Doug of course had pizza...go figure! Well, that was pretty much our weekend, how was yours?

weekend recap

Yay for the New York Giants who won the Super Bowl! Even though they aren't the team we root for, we still wanted them to win! I was really wanting to see another Manning get the win! We got to watch it over at the Grover's house with a ton of friends! It was so fun!

Saturday Doug and I watched his brother's kids. So instead of being stuck in the house all day, we took the kids to Chuck-e-Cheese. I was so mad at myself because I had left my camera behind. Drew was having a blast there. We will definitely have to take him back there again.

While we were in Utah, my mom wanted to have family pictures taken. Erica said she'd do them since they would be in Utah the same time. Thanks to her, our family has a ton of great pictures to choose from! Here are a few!
